Moving to a new place can be disorienting. In 2011, I found myself living in Germany unexpectedly. I felt unmoored, and used my camera to ground myself, trying to make the unfamiliar, familiar. The resulting photographs, “In search of home,” continue the theme of domesticity that has been a thread through my work over the decades, but from a very personal perspective, as I made my way through a then foreign landscape during a tumultuous period.
